REBUILD 2025 Abstracts

Navarra attends REBUILD 2025 as ‘Guest Innovation Region’, a recognition that highlights its pioneering model in public housing, sustainability and construction innovation. The region has positioned itself as a national benchmark thanks to its firm commitment to industrialisation, energy efficiency and public-private collaboration in building.

A public housing model that leads the way

Navarra has established itself as a national benchmark in the promotion of affordable housing, thanks to public policies such as the Navarra Social Housing Plan, launched in 2016. This plan responds to the commitment of the public authorities to contribute to guaranteeing the most vulnerable population access to quality, affordable rental housing, recognising it as a basic social right. All of this is developed under the principles of Almost Zero Consumption Construction (ECCN), with the highest standards of energy efficiency, sustainability and a firm commitment to the industrialisation of construction processes.
The Plan envisages the construction of a total of 1,353 subsidised housing units (VPO). Of these, 591 form part of the initial phase, almost all of which has already been completed, with an investment of over 135 million euros, co-financed (29%) by the European Investment Bank (EIB), the Government of Navarra, Nasuvinsa (62%) and the European Next Generation (MRR) funds (9%).
The second phase of the plan foresees a total investment of 160 million euros (49% public bank financing, 29% private investment, 14% resources from the Government of Navarra and Nasuvinsa and 8% subsidies) for the construction of 762 subsidised housing units. Of which 56% will be developed through direct promotion by the Government of Navarra, through the public company Nasuvinsa, and the remaining 44% through delegated promotion, cooperatives, foundations and private companies (among other means, with the creation of a mixed company, 50% public capital and 50% private capital).

In line with these objectives, the plan has also promoted the development of buildings built to Passivhaus standards, the implementation of BIM methodology in public building processes, as well as the promotion of industrialised solutions in wood. These actions reinforce Navarra’s commitment to sustainability, energy efficiency and innovation in construction processes, consolidating its leadership in public policies for affordable and quality housing.

Institutional leadership and business collaboration
From the public company Nasuvinsa, which coordinates the presence at the Fair, to the BAI Foundation, a benchmark centre for industrialisation and robotics in construction, the ecosystem in Navarra is based on a solid foundation of innovation, technical excellence and cooperation between sectors.
Navarra will have an intense agenda at REBUILD. The institutional delegation will take part in the opening ceremony and in the award ceremony for Navarra as a ‘European Innovative Region’, in recognition of its track record in promoting innovation in public policy and sustainable development.

A stand that reflects the identity and innovation of Navarra
Navarra will have its own exhibition space at REBUILD, designed under the values of its territorial brand. This stand will be a meeting point for meetings, round tables and presentations of public housing projects developed with architecture studios, construction companies and local councils.
In addition, the special session ‘Navarra, Guest Innovation Region. A region to follow’, which will take place on the afternoon of 23 April, will provide first-hand knowledge of the keys to the Navarra’s model of sustainability and housing.

Wood construction is experiencing an unprecedented boom in recent years. Its use had fallen considerably since the advent of concrete, especially in Europe. But the emergence of new techniques, the development of industrial wood and concern for the environment are making wood construction a real alternative.

At REBUILD we have prepared a specific Wood Construction agenda for you to discover the advantages and disadvantages of this millenary material.

At the Congress of Advanced Architecture and 4.0 Construction, this commitment was reflected through a dedicated program that brought together leading experts, architects, engineering firms, developers, manufacturers, and forestry organizations.

One of the most prominent gatherings was the Sounds Wood Meeting, where representatives from companies such as Treehood, Grupo Siero, and the Building Cluster discussed the potential of timber as a backbone of the new construction model.

Renowned architect Andrew Waugh (Waugh Thistleton Architects), a global pioneer in tall timber buildings using CLT, shared his vision alongside representatives from Woodea on timber construction systems and their urban, social, and environmental impact.

The session “Do We Have Enough Wood to Build?” brought together key figures from Fundación Gómez-Pintado, PEFC Spain, FSC Spain, and Unemadera to address the growing challenge of timber supply. Topics included sustainable forest management, public policy, supply chain obstacles, and technological innovations for optimizing the use of forest resources.

In the roundtable “Building with Wood: The Industrialized Revolution,” companies like 011h, Tallfusta, and Egoin Group presented real-world cases that showcased how technologies such as BIM and digital manufacturing are reshaping the design, production, and assembly of timber structures with high levels of efficiency, traceability, and quality.

With this focus, REBUILD positions itself as the essential meeting point for all professionals driving the transition toward a more responsible built environment—where timber is not just a material of the past, but the foundation of a new construction era.

Austria stands out as a benchmark in housing and livability policies, especially in its capital, Vienna, which has been recognized for the third consecutive year as the city with the highest quality of life in the world, according to the Economist Intelligence Unit’s livability index.

Vienna’s success lies in its public housing model, where more than 60% of the inhabitants live in apartments owned or subsidized by the city council, guaranteeing access to affordable housing. In addition, the quality of real estate supply in Austria focuses not only on quantity, but also on excellence, demanding high standards in energy efficiency, materials and common areas in subsidized housing.

This comprehensive approach has allowed the country to maintain relatively low rental prices compared to other major European cities, such as London, Dublin or Barcelona. Austria’s experience in this area extends to other cities such as Graz or Salzburg, consolidating its leadership in the creation of quality public housing.

The Austrian model is also characterized by a balance between public and private housing supply, with the public sector being the main driver of construction. With approximately one in four housing units in the country being public, Austria ranks as one of the countries with the highest proportion of state housing in Europe, behind only the Netherlands.

This approach has allowed the real estate market to maintain affordability without sacrificing construction quality. In addition, working with non-profit cooperatives to develop affordable housing has been instrumental in ensuring that various layers of the population can access decent homes, not only vulnerable people, but also professionals and middle-class families. This model of sustainable development has made Austria a benchmark for other countries interested in improving the quality of urban life and ensuring affordable housing for all.

It's time to industrialize!

The new edition of REBUILD is a Call to Action for the building sector. We are at a moment of paradigm shift in construction. The transformation in the way we build has become a necessity for the sector to advance from a traditional model to an industrialized one, with the help of digitalization in processes and technology that lead us to improved efficiency, decarbonization, and the promotion of circularity in construction.

Industrialization is also an opportunity to bring new profiles into the industry, such as young people and women, to address the lack of interest in the construction field and to foster the creation of role models based on diversity.

The principles of this sector evolution must already be integrated into our daily work practices. Innovation is a necessity for this industry to move forward collectively towards a more efficient sector that centers its projects on people’s well-being.

REBUILD is the main forum for sharing, conveying, showcasing, and presenting all these new changes to all the stakeholders in the value chain. All of this aims to achieve an industrialized, more competitive, technological, and digitalized sector that is essential to meeting the sustainability objectives of the European Green Deal, with the goal of ensuring that construction evolves exclusively in line with ESG principles.

From 24 to 24 March 2026 in IFEMA Madrid, showcase your latest solutions and materials to more than 28,000 specifiers and buyers and more than 5,600 new building projects in a unique platform for new generation leads.

REBUILD drives sustainability in the building industry

Sustainability Partners

Sustainability at all levels

REBUILD is highly committed to the environment. In recent years we have eliminated paper from our event with digital initiatives such as the visitor’s guide in the REBUILD app, the exhibitor’s guide through QR codes, or moving from using paper listings for institutional and networking activities to using Tablets.

We always have recycling points and there are containers to separate waste distributed throughout the two pavilions of REBUILD. We also have water fountains in the common areas so you can refill your own water bottle.

In addition, at Advanced Architecture and Construction 4.0 Congress we deal with a wide variety of topics around sustainability with specific summits such as the Sustainability Forum by GBCe, talking about decarbonization, circularity, new sustainable materials and NetZero, among others.

Decent work and economic growth

With the celebration of REBUILD we have an economic impact of more than 59 million euros in Madrid. Rebuild knows that the sustainable growth of the industry must be based on the creation of decent and productive employment, which is why Rebuild only works with local suppliers.

Thus, we have created the Talent Marketplace, a space that together with the collaboration of vocational schools and universities seeks to bring participants closer to the profiles, professions, needs and skills that are being requested in the working environment of Construction 4.0.

An event for everyone. Towards equality and inclusiveness

REBUILD strives to ensure equality and inclusion in every sense.

Free electric scooters are available at IFEMA for people with reduced mobility, as well as spaces reserved for wheelchairs or electric scooters in the catering areas and in the public of all the pavilions of the Congress with reserved space in the front row. For speakers with reduced mobility, ramps are also available for access to the auditoriums.

At lunchtime, no one will go hungry. Our food stands offer a wide variety of menus with Vegetarian/Vegan, Halal and Kosher options.

In addition, at REBUILD we promote diversity by guaranteeing simultaneous translation of all lectures, as well as offering a diverse and multidisciplinary program with speakers from different backgrounds and geographies.

Gender Equality and Promotion of Women in the Industry

In REBUILD we contribute to the promotion of women in the industry, not only by ensuring equal representation between men and women but also by offering the deserved recognition with the Lignum Tech Award for the best initiative to incorporate women in the construction trades, which in the last edition recognized the Chilean Chamber of Construction, for its Women’s Commission to promote actions to attract female talent. All this, with the ultimate goal of transforming construction towards a more industrialized, digitalized, sustainable, social and fair model.

Green Commitment: Renewable Energy in Action

We strive to excel in intelligence and sustainability in our design, and we are pleased to observe how our main suppliers also adopt sustainable measures to mitigate the significant environmental impact associated with their participation in the event:

IFEMA MADRID demonstrates a full commitment to the 2030 Agenda, driving the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This commitment is reflected both in our direct activities and in the promotion of alliances with various stakeholders, to encourage proactivity from organizations, companies and individuals.

In the case of MARVA, they stand out for their innovative use of an air conditioning system in production spaces through a biomass power plant, which recycles the waste generated during the production and assembly of structures. In addition, MARVA actively promotes the use of biodegradable or reusable materials in its clients’ exhibition projects.

Italy will be the Guest Country at REBUILD 2026, consolidating its leading role in the transformation of the building sector in Europe and reaffirming its leadership in architectural innovation, energy efficiency and urban regeneration.

Following its first participation as guest country in 2024, Italy returns with even greater force to showcase the strength of its business ecosystem, its commitment to sustainability and the excellence of its companies in construction, renovation and technological solutions aimed at a more efficient and liveable urban environment.

Its participation strengthens the ties of cooperation between Spain and Italy in the field of advanced construction, opening up new avenues of collaboration for the development of joint projects and the exchange of specialised knowledge.

Italy will use REBUILD 2026 as a strategic platform to promote the internationalisation of its companies, showcase its innovation model and consolidate its position as a key partner in the green and digital transition of the sector.

In addition, emblematic success stories integrating Italian design, technology and architectural culture will be presented, highlighting how tradition and avant-garde come together in internationally renowned projects that inspire the future of construction.

Construction, a key pillar of the Italian economy

The construction sector in Italy continues to consolidate its strategic importance in the national economy. According to data from Trading Economics, Italy’s construction GDP rose to €26,091.10 million in the second quarter of 2025, up from €25,861.90 million in the first quarter.

From a historical perspective, the sector has averaged €22,101.55 million from 1996 to 2025, with a record high of €27,958.10 million in 2006 and a low of €13,967.60 million in 2020, in the midst of the pandemic.

A European benchmark in sustainability and digitalisation

Italy has established itself as a key player in the green transition of the construction sector. The Italian government promotes subsidy and incentive programmes that encourage energy efficiency, the digitisation of construction processes and improvements in the quality of life in cities. These policies have made Italy a strategic market for the development of new, more circular, sustainable and inclusive building models.

Italy in REBUILD 2026

During REBUILD 2026, Italy will have a broad institutional and business representation, with a space that will serve as a showcase for the latest innovations in sustainable materials, digital solutions applied to construction, and pioneering projects in energy efficiency.

In addition, prominent representatives of the public administration and industry leaders will share Italy’s experience in renovation policies, energy transformation and sustainable construction strategies at the Advanced Architecture and Construction 4.0 Congress.

Italy’s participation as Guest Country at REBUILD 2026 represents a unique opportunity for companies, architects, engineers, developers and professionals in the sector to establish strategic alliances with one of the most active European markets in construction innovation and ecological transition.

Instal Pro: discover all the latest news to boost your professionalism

REBUILD has a specific agenda dedicated to installer companies, InstalPro – Installer Forum. On Thursday 24 April from 10:30 to 14:00 with a cocktail afterwards and a debate with 3 blocks, in which the audience, guests and experts will talk about the future of the profession of installer and communication 4.0.

In conjunction with Caloryfrio.com’s #ComunidadInstalador campaign, young installers and influencers, more traditional installation companies, associations, manufacturers, trainers and even communication experts will discuss how the profession is currently viewed and ways of working together to improve the perception of the profession.

REBUILD installers’ forum is a space for bringing together the entire building value chain: developer, architect, engineer, builder and INSTALLER to develop and promote installations in industrialised construction and new buildings.

Topics for 2025:

The novelty of this year is the ‘debate’ format that with 3 different groups; air conditioning and refrigeration installers, electrical installers and plumbing installers, construction workers, etc., we will discuss:

The installer 4.0. The new profile of the installer in the digital world and BIM; installations for zero emissions, offsite installations for industrialised construction; requalification of professionals after the new European directives for decarbonisation.

And communication 4.0. Communication of the profession today and in the future. Strategies to change the negative perception of the installation profession and attract new talent. How to get the end user to value the installer’s work and demand quality.

Image-enhancing campaigns. Contract in alternation, success stories of its practical application. Name and social recognition. How to attract women to the profession.

The designation of Castilla y León as an Innovative European Region is a recognition of its ongoing efforts to promote quality of life, sustainability and territorial cohesion, with digitalization and attention to talent as the means to achieve this.

Castilla y León has been a pioneer in boosting the modernization of the construction sector, with a commitment to the habitat industry, which has  been described as a strategic sector for its economic activity, and which incorporates a broad value chain, from endogenous resources, the transformation industry and construction and infrastructures to the auxiliary industry and revaluation and management.

The habitat sector concentrates in this Community some 24,000 companies, employing more than 80,000 people, with business figures exceeding 24,000 million euros.

In addition to this, Castilla y León has a dynamic and innovative private sector, with AEICE, the Efficient Housing Cluster, as a unifying force for the different agents and with a broad technological and knowledge network with experience in the field.

For all this, the Junta de Castilla y León has acted as a critical lever, activating policies to promote and support companies and organizations, as well as implementing major public initiatives such as the “Tuya” housing policy, cohousing, rehabilitation programs and the pioneering Castilla y León Habitat Sector Plan.

Together with an ecosystem of companies, developers and innovative technology centers in construction materials and sustainability.

For this reason, the Advisory Council of REBUILD 2021 chooses the Basque Country as the invited European region, with the aim of sharing best practices and developing new public-private initiatives for building.

Studio Interiors Summit

REBUILD hosts within the program of the Advanced Architecture and Construction 4.0 Congress, the first Studio Interiors Summit to discover the latest trends in interior design projects, as well as the most disruptive success stories.

The new projects and ways of living or sharing spaces, such as coliving, coworking spaces, build to rent developments, and the interior design service offered by developers to provide a complete and excellent service to their clients, are some of the examples that lead investors, developers, builders and architects to the need to seek interior design solutions in their projects.

The interior designer and those industrial companies that offer innovative products and solutions in this direction, will play a very relevant role in the new edition of REBUILD 2025.

Multipurpose, healthy, connected and greener spaces are created, where lighting, good acoustics, ventilation, type of furniture, renewable materials such as wood, which provide a good ecological solution to the interiors, are necessary in the new roadmap of interior design towards sustainability. But so is technology, which plays an indispensable role in shared spaces, with automatic doors, motion-activated lighting or smart bathrooms.

Prestigious experts will show their inspirations and how they have resolved the spaces in the projects they have worked on.

Winners 2021

Intereconomia Award for the best Product, Material or System Innovation

iLOQ: iLOQ has developed digital locks that do not require a battery either in the key or in the cylinder as the locks develop their own energy through the insertion of the key. They transform kinetic energy into electrical energy to validate the access rights programmed in the key. Only one key per user. Cannot be copied. A lost key does not involve changing locks or disturbing other users.

Finalists

  • Holedeck and BIS Structures: The Holedeck H ONE 68 structure is a lightened one-way slab solution composed of perforated beams and in-situ or prefabricated slabs. This solution allows a reduction in construction material consumption (concrete and steel) even compared to one-way slabs. The perforations in the beams allow the passage of installations between the slab, considerably reducing the required height per floor.
  • Cerámica La Escandella: La Escandella has generated a proposal for photovoltaic energy collection that is perfectly integrated into the roof: the Planum Photovoltaic Solar System. It provides an energy collection performance per square meter: 150 w/m2 and the structure that contains it, with a tile mold, is made of EVA, a biodegradable, light and resistant material that provides security to the property and ease of installation to the professional.

AEDAS Homes Award for the best Interior Design and User eXperience project

Zennio: “In the heart of Madrid is one of the most attractive apartment developments of the moment: The Claudio Coello 108 building, an imposing building of avant-garde design that houses 13 luxury homes. Finalists:

  • Viviendea + Same Proyectos y Gestión: Viviendea is an online platform born in 2015 with the vocation of putting the user who buys a new construction home in the center so that the final product is adequate to the real demand (matching supply to demand). To validate the idea we created Same, a new generation developer that has materialized the first true demands arising from viviendea in a unique building in Valencia that has emerged from its neighbors.
  • COOKARQ: this project was born from the desire of a couple to transform an old building between party walls into the home of their dreams in the center of Cornellá de Llobregat, fully accessible on the first floor, with the future in mind. The house is developed as an intermediate space between two totally different facades separated 20mts from each other-

Arpada Award for the best Digitalization Project or Technological Commitment in Building

TECNALIA: It is a digital representation of a real building, connected in real time to it, providing a reliable image of it, from equipment parameters to occupancy data or use of the building. • ACR Grupo: The STEPUP project develops a new integral methodology for the rehabilitation of buildings based on Plug & Play technologies that optimize the execution of rehabilitation works. The aim is to optimize the energy performance of buildings and their environmental impact throughout the entire life of the building, reduce the investment risk for residents and increase the value of the property.

REBUILD BIM FORUM is a day that will be dedicated to the effect that the well-known Patrick MacLeamy enunciated with his BIM, BAM, BOOM.

Three sessions will distill the effects that this new methodology has catapulted:

BIM as the 3D modeling of information to construct a building,

BAM as the architectural-constructive project that is based on the fabrication and assembly of components rather than the typical “construction” of volumes, and;

– the BOOM as the derivative of using data and information to operate and optimize built real estate assets. Something that “Build to rent”, the new concept introduced in REBUILD, is going to require in project, work and management a posteriori.

Awards Gala Dinner

The final winners will be announced at the Gala Dinner next September, 18th

Architecture and construction 4.0 have given rise to a new and unknown labor market at the same time. This has to evolve at the same speed as technology does and now the challenge is to adapt the new professional profiles to the demands of the industrial sector.

That is why in REBUILD we have created the Talent Marketplace, a space to deepen on the new professional profiles and the recruitment of talent to cover new jobs related to Construction 4.0.

On March 26th, REBUILD opens its doors to students of the last year of technical degrees and professional training related to the building sector with the aim that these students who will soon enter the labor market can meet with the experts in human resources and personnel selection what skills will be required and what job opportunities do the different industries offer.

The Talent Marketplace will show some conferences from human resources experts and a round table; with the aim of bringing to the participants what are the profiles, professions, needs and skills that are being asked in the work environment of Construction 4.0. Afterwards, students can meet briefly with the speakers to receive advice and submit their curriculum vitae if they wish.

On the other hand, the Talent Marketplace is a way for participating companies to find the perfect candidates for their companies.

How to participate in Talent Marketplace

If you are a human resources or talent recruitment manager…

Send us your interest in participating by e-mail to [email protected] , indicating the sector of activity of your company, and a brief synopsis of what you would like to explain to the students.

If you are a student…

Talk to your tutor so that he/she can send us an email.

Relevant data for the rehabilitation industry

The tsunami in the construction industry over the last decade resulted in the disappearance of thousands of companies in the sector and the loss of hundreds of thousands of skilled jobs. Today, Spain is back on the path of sustained economic growth, in which construction will play a key role. The promotion of renovation of houses and buildings at a time when families have higher incomes along with an old housing stock, major constructive deficiencies, difficulties in reaching the same figures of new building construction as in the 90s, and a new sustainable awareness and circular economy, are the ideal bases for the construction sector to recover through rehabilitation and renovation.

REBUILD provides a unique platform of innovation to invigorate the sector of construction, renovation and the energy efficiency of houses and buildings. It is a place where the professional of the sector is provided with a specialized environment where to find the latest products, materials, solutions and services.

The professional of the sector must recover a source and platform of knowledge, innovation, new products, technology and information of prices and distributors in their area. REBUILD was born to provide you and help you identify all the solutions that will lead to increase your innovation and competitiveness on a daily basis.

Accelerating the R-Evolution of Building with innovation, off site construction, digitization and sustainability

We are experiencing a paradigm shift in building. The transformation in the way we build is already beginning to be effective, a transition from a traditional model to an off site one, digitalization in processes and technology that help us to improve the consumption of resources and lead us to an improvement in efficiency in order to have more sustainable buildings.

Industrialization is also an opportunity to incorporate new profiles into the industry, such as young people or women, in order to try to break the shortage of vocations in the field of construction and to encourage the creation of benchmarks based on diversity. The principles of this evolution of the industry must already be introduced in our way of working.

“Accelerating Building Revolution” is necessity to comply with the guidelines imposed by the European community towards a much more sustainable and efficient future of the industry.

REBUILD is the main meeting forum to share, show and present all these new changes to all the players of the value chain with the aim of having an industrialised and more competitive, technological and digitalized sector.

From 19 to 21 March 2024 in IFEMA Madrid, showcase your latest solutions and materials to more than 24,000 specifiers and buyers and more than 5,600 new building projects in a unique platform for new generation leads.
