Maribel Vergara Sánchez, a materials engineer and technical architect, developed her career within the Extremaduran public administration, serving as Director General of Housing for the Regional Government of Extremadura (2019–2023). In 2025, she was appointed Director of the PERTE for Housing Industrialization, a strategic project with a €1.3 billion investment aimed at reaching 15,000 industrialized homes annually and 200,000 households within a decade.
