Construction 4.0 and the Housing Wall: The 500-Day Debate

This session could have 5 titles as it directly alludes to the average time it takes for a licence in Spain (500 days) and the feeling of exclusion of young people. It is a title that invites constructive indignation. But it could also be titled in an “Industrial” way, something like “From Brick to Factory: Who stopped the future?” because we want to position the debate on industrialization (it is one of the central axes of REBUILD) and it confronts the past (brick) with the future (factory) and poses a question that forces politicians to give explanations about a challenge: “The Impossible Pact”, a common solution to one of the country’s greatest urgencies: homelessness. We could also have titled it “Code 15: License to Build” because it refers to the proposal of licenses in 15 days and the Technical Building Code. It might sound like an investigative program or an administrative thriller, but we would have liked to call it “Emergency Ministry: The Key to Industrialization.” As if it were a television program that was a real audition for the next Minister of Housing.
