Volver a Blog Sustainability as the backbone of Industrialisation febrero 14, 2022 The AECO sector must have the same goal as all other industrial sectors: the Paris Agreement halves the carbon impact of construction by 2030. For buildings, we can achieve this by providing cutting-edge technology to control and reduce not only costs but also emissions throughout the design-build project lifecycle. The use of BIM enables sustainable construction by incorporating economic efficiency, energy and resource efficiency, and environmental performance at different stages of construction. Digitising enables measurement, however, what holds the industry back is the slow adoption of BIM methodology, and this leads to a lack of precise geometry which then ensures accurate measurements and precise bills of materials, helping to save resources and avoid waste. And this precision and digitisation allows the use of industrialised systems and their machine tools. Therefore, digitising makes it possible to industrialise and industrialising makes it possible to be efficient in terms of resources, materials and consumption, and therefore to be more sustainable.
