The genealogy of Zaha Hadid’s parametric design, it is said, reinterprets the paintings of Malevich, a creator of Suprematism whom Hadid often described as a great inspiration and who influenced her early work from the perspective of Gestalt psychology. Zaha Hadid and Patrik Schumacher, partners of ZHA (Zaha Hadid Architects) in their best years pursued parametricism as the paradigm of parametric design in all corners of the discipline. Systematic and adaptive variation, continuous differentiation and dynamic, parametric figuration relate to all design tasks, from urban planning to the level of tectonic detailing, interior furnishings and the world of products. His recent built works and a number of international competition-winning schemes embody his key characteristics. Recent works show organic forms as a consistent language of architecture and urban design and this is what ZHA partner Fllippo Innocenti will explain.
