Volver a Blog Light and Nature: Human Centric Lighting Solutions febrero 14, 2022 Human Centric Lighting represents a new concept of human-centred lighting. It aims to bring artificial light as close as possible to natural light in order to improve the quality of life and well-being of people in their daily lives, taking into account the different environments around them. Light is the most important regulator of the human body and influences many moments of the life cycle, from sleep to work, improving aspects such as concentration or work efficiency. That is why, as living beings, people need light and darkness. There is a diurnal cycle where they need to be active and another period where they need to rest. In this sense, LED technology allows independent control in the three dimensions that are key to human-centred lighting: intensity, colour temperature and light direction. High intensity light and a cooler colour temperature help to keep us active and improve our performance and alertness. This type of lighting is beneficial during the central hours of the day. In contrast, soft light with a warm colour temperature produces a calming effect and does not disturb sleep and is therefore recommended for the later hours of the day. Let us consider how to light our projects and our homes well, because the benefits for people are many and for everyone: regardless of age, they include optimised sleep-wake cycles, daily improvements in alertness, performance and mood, as well as responses to seasonal changes.
