This edition of REBUILD 2022 will have a very special guest. A guest that includes the three key elements on which the congress is based – sustainability, industrialisation and digitalisation – and also adds a few more. In fact, b720 Fermín Vázquez Arquitectos is above all a team (remember that this year, REBUILD presents for the first time a Workshop on Collaborative Work, where people will not come to listen but to interact and learn. The studio, founded in 1997 and led by Fermín Vázquez – founding partner together with Ana Bassat – produces contemporary architecture committed to the responsible use of natural resources. Its coherence is based on its own working methodology, deliberately avoiding the development of a style or typified formalisms. Each project is a specific search, with clients and society as essential references. The response to programme, context, budget and time is necessarily unique. Many international studios have collaborated with b720 Fermín Vázquez. Both studios have always been involved half and half from the beginning in each one of them. Thus, projects stand out with David Chipperfield (City of Justice in Barcelona and L’Hospitalet de Llobregat or the Veles e Vents Building in Valencia), with Toyo Ito Torres Porta Fira (Hotel Porta Fira and Torre Realia BCN of the new fairgrounds in Barcelona) or those carried out with Jean Nouvel (Agbar Tower, extension of the Reina Sofía National Museum and Art Centre in Madrid and the Poblenou Centre Park in Barcelona).
