Did we think of logistics as one of the transcendental issues in construction?

Within Lean Construction, one of the biggest wastes is waiting followed by lack of order (let’s call it planning and movement of resources). This is a specific session to get in touch with the benefits of efficient logistics management in the construction sector and its impact on construction projects. There is a lot of confusion in the construction sector about the meaning of Logistics Management (LCM) and Supply Chain Management (SCM). And we need to start talking about the concepts of logistics management in construction companies (LCM) and the benefits of efficient implementation in projects.

Much of this knowledge has been taken from the development of the automotive industry in Japan, which is why Lean Construction is a reflection of Lean Production. However, logistics management is considered to be part of supply chain management – something commonly ignored in our sector – and is developed by each of the companies that make up its links. A part of supply chain management that plans, carries out and controls the flow, direct and reverse, and the effective and efficient storage of goods and services and related information from the point of origin to the point of consumption in order to meet the requirements of consumers will be our new mantra.
