Concrete has been the defining material of the 20th century. Now technology and new applications aimed at sectors such as the biomedical industry, construction or even aerospace in the case of the manufacture of components with complex geometries or special materials from complex prefabrication and additive printing are opening the way to reduce manufacturing costs. This strategy aimed at the aeronautics sector, specifically the manufacture of high value-added metal structures and polymer matrix composites, is at the root of bringing concrete into the 21st century.

This session opens the vertical on industrialised construction, a cycle of technical sessions dedicated to analysing how the prefabricated industry can be transformed, in this case, through 3D printing in the construction sector. We will explain the current situation, the degree of implementation in this sector, the evolution of the market and how the precast concrete industry can be transformed.
