Doctor of Architecture, graduated from the School of Architecture of Seville in 1998, she joined the same year as Professor of the Department of Architectural Projects. She has been Visiting Professor at several Spanish and foreign universities, among them: Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María, Valparaíso (Chile), Universidad Internacional de Catalunya, Barcelona (Spain), University of Applied Sciences Hochschule de Bochum (Germany), Washington University in Saint Louis (USA)…. Since 1998 Sara de Giles shares her professional studio with José Morales, who founded in 1987 together with Juan Glez Mariscal the MGM Arquitectos studio, currently called MGM, Morales de Giles Arquitectos. They have been awarded numerous national and international prizes among which stand out: The Spanish International Architecture Award 2017, The Spanish Architecture Award 2013, finalist in the Mies van der Rohe Award in 2001 and 2009, First International Award in AIT Awards 2012 and 2014, First Nan Award in 2012 and 2017, Awarded in 2016 in the XIII Spanish Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism as well as in the X Iberoamerican Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism. Awarded in Bigmat International Architecture Award in 2017 and 2019. In 2006, Sara de Giles was nominated by Spain for the world prize Arc Vision Prize- Women and Architecture (Italcementi Group).It is also worth mentioning that her work has been exhibited in the exhibition “ON-SITE New architecture in Spain” at the Museum of Modern Art in New York (MoMA), at the Venice Architecture Biennale in 5 editions, as well as at the architectural Platforme architectural de la Cité de l’Architecture et du Patrimoine de Paris in 2019. In 2018 and 2019, Sara de Giles was curator and director together with José Morales of the XIV Spanish Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism.
