Off-site brick system: New strategies for industrialized architecture
No one expected to talk about bricks when we talk about industrialized construction. However, we already have Spanish companies with solutions that demonstrate how this ancient material is placed on site without masons using vetures, fabrics and panels. Contemplating some experiences in Amsterdam, Copenhagen, London or Sydney also shows us its architectural power. In the session, Vicente Sarrablo and Iñaqui Carnicero will talk about the book “Ladrillo sistema off-site” by Hispalyt, the former as the author of the book and the latter as a representative of MIVAU, which has awarded a grant to Hispalyt for its edition. The aim of the book is to offer technical knowledge, inspire new solutions and consolidate a model in which tradition and innovation reinforce each other. To this end, this book brings together real cases, technological innovations and construction systems that show how industrialization with brick is contributing to transforming the sector. For their part, Miquel Batlle and Juan Trías de Bes will exhibit their own projects and works designed with industrialized brick systems that have been widely recognized and awarded in the field of architecture. Those attending this session will receive a copy of the book “Brick system off-site: New strategies for industrialized architecture” courtesy of MIVAU and Hispalyt.
