Networking: Industrialization Beyond Large Factories
Industrialization has established itself as one of the great transformations of the construction sector. However, the dominant narrative tends to associate it with large corporations with powerful production capacities and highly integrated factories. What happens then with the enormous network of SMEs that make up the sector? This round table will address how industrialisation can also be developed from collaborative models, where different agents – specialised manufacturers, engineering companies, construction companies, technologists and developers – work in a coordinated way to create competitive industrialised solutions. Interoperability, specialization and strategic collaboration are emerging as key levers for scaling production capacity without the need for a single large factory. Through different experiences and perspectives, we will explore how building in a network can become a realistic and effective way to drive industrialization, open up the market and accelerate the transformation of the sector.
