Italy-Spain State of the Art of Industrialized Construction
The state of the art of industrialised construction in Spain and Italy shows a panorama of recovery, sustained growth and technological transformation towards sustainability in the period 2025-2026. Both countries are positioning themselves in the European market by adopting modular and prefabricated methods to address housing demand. Construction in Spain leads growth in Europe until 2025. The residential sector is estimated to remain solid, with growth forecasts of more than 5% between 2026-2028. Faced with the housing deficit and the lack of qualified labour, industrialised construction is consolidating itself as the efficient response. It is estimated that industrialized construction is a “necessary vocation” to improve deadlines and quality. In Spain, the use of steel frames, prefabricated concrete and a strong boom in wood for decarbonisation stand out. Technologies such as BIM (Building Information Modeling) and robotics are key to accuracy. Meanwhile, Italy is strongly focused on energy efficiency and sustainability. Prefabrication aligns with the objectives of reducing the carbon footprint, with a notable interest in ecological materials. Italian companies excel in the supply of wood for bio-construction and there is a strong presence of prefabricated modular solutions. Recovery of the Sector: Although at a slower pace than Spain after the pandemic, construction in Italy shows progressive growth. Investments in infrastructure and energy are expected to boost the sector towards 2027. Its creators are going to show it in this session.
