IA en la Construcción
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the technology that allows machines to be trained to mimic human cognitive functions. It is able to detect patterns, learn from experience, and understand data and images. In the construction sector, its use is a competitive advantage to generate safer projects, reduce and optimize resources, and increase efficiency. It is still too early to predict the effects of AI on the industry in the long term, however, the opportunities that present themselves are undeniable. The construction industry, like many sectors, is in a period of digitalization, which promotes the questioning of traditional processes, breaking with established systems. Artificial intelligence has the power to impact the entire value chain, from building materials production, design, planning and development to project management. This process can be overwhelming, especially for companies that are not aware of the possibilities of this and other innovations. The good news is that AI doesn’t have to be complex. The key is to rethink systems and define where in the chain artificial intelligence can solve or empower our workflow towards efficiency. Five areas focus on the application of artificial intelligence in construction: project management or AI for task assignment and workflow design; Smart construction, generative design in the construction sector, AI for surveying and land mapping together with geospatial AI and drones, and autonomous vehicles for greater productivity that has led to greater popularity of the use of autonomous construction machinery to execute simple tasks. Will we see them soon in a play?
